Michelle Bartzen is a certified physician assistant, specializing in orthopedic surgery. She helps patients with ACL and rotator cuff injuries, provides non-operative treatment of hip, knee and shoulder arthritis and assists surgeons in the operating room.

Bartzen has always been interested in the puzzle that is the human body and enjoys that health care provides an opportunity for continuing education.

“The body has always been fascinating to me,” said Bartzen. “I love constantly learning and figuring things out. It’s like being a detective, but better.”

Bartzen chose orthopedics because it allows her to follow a patient through treatment and on the journey to a better quality of life.

“Whether it’s recovering from an injury or after undergoing surgery, seeing and hearing how many patients are able to return to activities they once loved is extremely rewarding and continues to motivate me,” Bartzen said.

Bartzen earned her master’s degree at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona and her bachelor’s degree at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

When not at work, Bartzen enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her sidekick, her dog Zander. She loves to hike, be outdoors, play volleyball, read and work out.
