Dr. Emilio Lastarria is a board-certified urologist who treats general urological conditions like infertility, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, inflammatory disease and prostatitis, as well as stone disease and cancers of the prostate and testicle. He enjoys urology due to its mix of available medical and surgical remedies and the ability to provide patients with immediate relief.

 “I learned a lot about being a good physician by being a patient,” Dr. Lastarria said. “When I felt heard and understood it put me at ease, created trust and encouraged me to follow the recommendations being made. It’s important to me that every patient to walk out of my practice feeling like their needs were well cared for.”

Dr. Lastarria dedicates himself to remaining on the cutting edge of urological technology and holds a patent to improve the safety of prostate laser surgery.

“I am committed to doing whatever I can to learn about what is new, peer-reviewed and setting the standard for excellent care. It’s what I love to do,” Dr. Lastarria said. “My patients can trust they are going to receive the best, most up-to-date medicine and treatment possible because I always want to feel like I’ve given each patient my best.”

Dr. Lastarria earned his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. and received his Bachelor of Science at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Ill. He also served as a surgery intern and urology resident at New York Medical College.

In his spare time, Dr. Lastarria enjoys biking and spending time with his family.
