Dr. Joseph M. Puccinelli, a Beaver Dam Community Hospitals (BDCH) physician, has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.  Dr. Puccinelli is an orthopedic surgeon who practices with BDCH’s Institute for Movement and Orthopedics. Castle Connolly Top Doctors® are highly sought-after physician leaders in their communities, and the selection is considered prestigious among medical circles.

The Castle Connolly selection process is based on peer nominations. All licensed physicians, medical doctors and doctors of osteopathic medicine are invited to participate in the selection process. Puccinelli said he was honored to be recognized by his peers.

“What I enjoy most about orthopedics is fixing things. It’s particularly gratifying to see first-hand how I’m able to improve the quality of life for my patients,” said Puccinelli. “I feel fortunate to work at BDCH, and have the opportunity to use my gifts and talents to help the Dodge County region.”

Puccinelli has been with BDCH since 2015 and has practiced in the state of Wisconsin for 26 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Saint Louis University and graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

The selection as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor is one of several awards Puccinelli has earned in last three years. In 2016, he earned the Patients’ Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor certification. The Patients’ Choice Award reflects the difference a particular physician has made in the lives of his or her patients. The Compassionate Doctor certification is granted to physicians who treat their patients with the utmost kindness. The honor is granted based on a physician’s overall and bedside manner scores.
