“I really enjoy caring for the whole person, and for people of all ages. The idea of caring for entire families is very special to me.”

Amy Zangl, PA-C, practices family medicine and cares for acute and chronic health conditions, with an emphasis on preventive medicine. She also has an interest in mental health issues and believes in treating patients holistically, which begins by listening closely and getting to know each patient individually.

“My patients aren’t simply a diagnosis, they are people with friends, family and interests, with unique circumstances and living environments,” Zangl said. “When we can collaborate on their health and wellness, and find solutions to their conditions or chronic problems, it is incredibly rewarding.”

Zangl grew up outside Lomira, Wis., and has spent her time in practice caring for rural populations in and around the greater Dodge County region. She has always been in awe of the human body and was passionate about learning how individual health systems work together in order to identify and resolve health and wellness issues for her patients.

“I believe in treating my patients the way I would want my family and friends to be treated,” Zangl said. “It’s my job to educate and advise, and ensure my patients are engaged in the decision-making process at all times. I like to tell my patients they’re the driver, and I’m just the navigator.”

Zangl earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

In her free time, Zangl enjoys reading, gardening and creating with her hands. She loves all animals, and her and her husband live in Brownsville with their two children.
