BDCH Earns Health Transformation Award from The AllianceBeaver Dam Community Hospitals, Inc.’s commitment to safe, quality patient care and to population health has earned it the Health Transformation Award from The Alliance, a Madison-based not-for-profit cooperative of employers across the Midwest.

“Beaver Dam Community Hospital is being recognized for its accomplishment of being named to The Leapfrog Group’s annual list of Top Hospitals in the rural hospital category for two consecutive years, as well as for its commitment to improve the health and well-being of the community through the Blue Zones Project.® Your leadership is remarkable,” said Cheryl DeMars, President & CEO of The Alliance.

BDCH President and CEO Kim Miller, FACHE, who accepted the award on behalf of the organization during a ceremony in Madison Thursday, said: “When we rewrote our mission and vision several years ago, we included the triple aim, which means dedicating ourselves to improving quality, safety and the patient experience of care, improving the health of the population and reducing the per capita cost of health care for those we serve.”

She added: “Our 1,300+ care team members come to work every day with the knowledge that people are putting their lives in our hands, and that the care they deliver needs to be the best. This award validates the success we have had in achieving that care delivery.”

The Alliance awards program was created in 2015 to recognize people and/or organizations that demonstrate alignment with the group’s mission of moving health care forward by controlling costs, improving quality and engaging individuals in their health.

Founded in 1990, The Alliance is a not-for-profit cooperative of 240 employers in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa that helps members manage their health care dollars while positively impacting their employees' health. Members include well-known brands such as Lands’ End, Blain’s Farm & Fleet, Trek and Woodman’s Markets.
