Lactation Consultants Help Mom and Baby
Breastfeeding education and personalized attention from our lactation consultants help mom and baby adjust and prepare to return home.

Lactation Consultants not only help with the early days but can assist the mother throughout her entire breastfeeding experience. At BDCH's Lactation Office, mothers come in for various reasons including feeding and baby weight assessment, low milk supply or oversupply, going back to work, pumping, starting baby on solid foods and other breastfeeding-related issues.

There is plenty of support and assistance for the mom who is breastfeeding. In addition to the board-certified Lactation Consultant who deals with all aspects of breastfeeding, all BDCH OB Department nurses are trained to assist moms and babies with breastfeeding in the immediate postpartum period.

BDCH also offers breastpumps for rent or sale as well as breastfeeding accessories including bras, pump accessories and other items.
