Stay Home Safe Class

A Stay Home Safe class to teach children skills for being home alone will be held at Beaver Dam Community Hospital from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 10.

The Stay Home Safe program teaches children how to stay safe when home alone, helping to alleviate the fears of both parents and children. Topics covered include house key safety, answering the phone, fire and weather concerns, cyberspace safety, how to safely respond to someone at the door, basic hands-on first aid skills, how to protect yourself from strangers, the importance of communicating with parents and how to deal with peer pressure.
 
The program cost is $15 and the suggested minimum age is 10. The presence of a parent/guardian is required during the first 30 minutes of class. For more information, or to register, call Marcia Decker at (920) 887-5926.
